The 160 drawings in The Hair Drawing Project were created over an eight-month period during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020. Each day, I used water and my own hair to draw on my shower walls. This daily practice became my way of coping with the uncertainty and chaos around me as health crises and societal pressures intensified. Through these drawings, I sought a sense of peace in the simple act of creating. The images capture specific moments in time and reflect on the importance of routine, resilience, and nostalgia during a period of isolation and the absence of physical connection.
